Sohayla joined the Lucey Law Firm in 2014 as a law clerk while completing her Juris Doctor coursework.
Sohayla is a Charleston native and a 2005 graduate of the University of South Carolina Honors College where she majored in Psychology. From 2006 to 2013, Sohayla led multimillion-dollar business units for retailers recognized in Fortune’s Global 500 and the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices. After gaining a variety of business experience, she enrolled in law school in 2013. During law school, Sohayla served as the Editor in Chief of the Federal Courts Law Review, and was a competing member of the Charleston Law Moot Court Board and a pupil member of the James L. Petigru American Inn of Court. In 2016, she graduated magna cum laude from Charleston Law, and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar.
As an associate, Sohayla is currently involved in complex business transactions, insurance coverage disputes, and construction and product defect cases. She also handles employment and contract law matters.
